PREVIEW | Nottingham Forest -v- Wednesday

Playing on a Wednesday.

I like the idea of playing on the day we’re named after.

Every time we do, I have this strong belief we’re going to win.

I’ve no idea how accurate this belief is but I like to have faith.

Forest are the upcoming (almost certain) victims,

Owls Team News

Barry Bannan’s masterclass against Stoke earned him the top rated player in the Sky Sports power rankings (no, I’m not sure either).

Superstar

Van Aken I’m unsure about, but Pudil seems to be fit again.
Still waiting on Hooper and Abdi.

You have to assume Hutchinson is still injured, and Forestieri will be missing through suspension.

Onomah will be hoping for his first start having made his debut at the weekend, while Hector may be eying a place at centre half.

On another note, it’s very refreshing to see two youngsters in Thorniley and Penney really solidifying their places in the starting XI.

The Opponent’s Camp

Forest came into the new season with high hopes, investment returned a few new signings who raised expectations with some classy performances.

Performances have not yet turned into results though, with 8 points from the opening 7 games leaving them 14th at this early stage.

It’s clear the quality is there, but they definitely need to start turning draws into wins to motor up the table, with the points shared in 5 of those 7 fixtures.

Their only win came against Reading, who don’t exactly have high ambitions this year themselves.

Still, the squad has a lot of quality, so they’re very capable of putting a run together.

Matt’s prediction – Easy

We’re playing on a Wednesday, as I said before, we’re winning.

Even without Keiran Lee to bag in the last minute.

Absolute doddle.
