Sheffield Wednesday have this morning launched their new Sondico home kit for the 2015/16 season, bearing the name ‘Chansiri’ in place of a sponsor.

The shirt will be worn as the Owls take to the new Hillsborough pitch in all home games during the regulation Championship season, as well as at any relevant away and cup fixtures.

The kit features the typical blue and white stripes, a three button collar design, and the acronym ‘WAWAW’ on the reverse.

Wednesday fans will be interested to see the family name of owner Dejphon Chansiri has become the official sponsor.

The news comes at a time when clubs are looking to new paths to circumvent Financial Fair Play rules, alongside Chansiri’s promises of aggressively financing Wednesday towards the Premier League by 2017.

As ever, the launch of the new kit has been greeted with speculation and rumour, with fans discussing their thoughts on different styles, collars and colours.

The club released a series of small ‘taster’ images over the course of the past two weeks to wet the appetite, a move which has signalled a greater degree of social media interaction in recent months.

Fans will be keen to see the kit in action and Wednesday’s pre-season programme is due to be announced in the coming weeks.
