Wednesday sign striker May

Stevie May Sheffield WednesdaySheffield Wednesday have this afternoon confirmed the signing of St Johnstone striker Stevie May on a four-year deal.

The 21-year-old has been in talks with both Rotherham United and the Owls this week but the Scottish hotshot has chosen Hillsborough.

May came through the ranks at The Saints, making his first-team debut at 16. He had a successful loan spell at Alloa Athletic in the second half of the 2011-12 season, scoring 19 goals in just 22 starts for the Third Division side.

He returned to St Johnstone for the start of the 2012-13 season, before joining Division One Hamilton, where he scored 26 goals in just 35 games.

Last season he scored 27 goals for St Johnstone as they won the Scottish Cup and finished 6th in the Scottish Premier League.
