Dark days at Hillsborough but EVERYONE needs to play their part!

As much as most Wednesday fans liked Brian Laws, as much as we all thought he was a nice, decent bloke, he simply must take some responsibility for this team, how they’re playing and the predicament we’re in, he HAS TO stick his hand up and say, YEP! SORRY! I got it wrong....
The players too, must take their share of the blame…it’s OK saying they’re scared, that they fear the wrath of the fans and are scared of making mistakes but it wasn’t always like this and this crowd are very easy to please…they don’t demand perfection but they DO demand that each player does his best…his VERY best and no half measures. IF they aren’t good enough it’s not their fault, it's the fault of those that bought them and those that train them but the onus is on the players to work hard to work VERY hard and give us what they HAVE got…we’ve been starved of heroes far too long and it doesn’t take much for the Wednesday fans to sing the names of players in praise rather than scorn…it is well within the compass of every single one of these Wednesday players to turn this crowd, to get them ‘onside’ if they just play with heart…play with soul…just play like they fookin mean it….and the fans themselves MUST play their part…
LET US DO OUR BIT and then THEY cannot complain at us!
On ‘Praise or Grumble’ after the Swansea match a Barnsley fan rung in to complain about a Wednesday fan who said he’d been in a corporate box during the game and only him and his son could be arsed to go out and watch it, the rest enjoying the hospitality stayed inside. So he and his son went out alone to sit in their comfy seats, but the football on offer was so bad that he was home by 60mins (or thereabouts) and pleaded with Seth on the radio ‘could we be beaten earlier please so we don't have to put up with it so long and he could get home even earlier?’…Now even though I’m guessing he was kidding about that last bit the Barnsley fan was bang on the money when he said…
‘This is the time you get behind your team, not leave early’
Never mind the fact the Wednesday fan was viewing from the most pleasant part of the ground on a spine tingling freezing day and other fans were sat exposed to the elements, but to leave early and THEN whinge the players aren’t giving their all…maybe the fans should practise what they preach. If a fan leaves early then how can we make demands of our players that they ‘fight for the shirt’?
I don’t mind folk going early, if you don’t like what ya seeing and would rather be at home, fine, but don’t have a go at the players for not giving it their all if YOU can’t be arsed either.
If WE can’t hang on, and stay until the final whistle and back the team, lift them, SUPPORT them, then why should the players hang on?
Because they’re being paid to play?
Is that all?
They can go somewhere, ANYWHERE else and be paid the same or more and be at a club where they’ll be appreciated.
These players won’t be here forever, they have no reason to truly care about this club, we will be here long into the future and a little of each of us will be here even after life, the club is built on us, over many generations…when the players and managers are gone and done, we’ll still be here….WE CARE…so never mind I can’t watch that, never mind I’m not paying to see that rubbish…Get behind the fookers….actually SUPPORT YOUR team.
If the fans don’t have the stomach for a fight then what right have we to ask the same of the players?
Let’s stop fookin looking for scapegoats, let’s stop looking to apportion blame, somewhere, ANYWHERE, and let’s stick together because if we don’t…if we continue this bickering amongst ourselves and getting on the backs of the players, then sure as shit is shit we WILL go down and whilst most fans may THINK that has already happened...
IT AINT A DONE DEAL YET!
Beastie.
